Basketball Recap: Greeneville Greene Devils vs. Tennessee Vikings

Greeneville was the 65-55 winner over Tennessee when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Greeneville Greene Devils took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tennessee Vikings on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Greene Devils came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Vikings are ranked 145th).

Greeneville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Adkins, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Tennessee found their leader in sophomore Addie Wilhoit, who posted 23 points and five steals. That's the most steals Wilhoit has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Jones, who shot 70% from the field on her way to 14 points.
