Softball Game Preview: Nandua Warriors vs. Chincoteague Ponies

The Nandua Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Chincoteague Ponies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nandua has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Nandua got the win against Northampton by a conclusive 21-11. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Chincoteague fell victim to Arcadia and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Firebirds, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Ponies have suffered against the Firebirds since May 20, 2021.

Nandua's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Chincoteague, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Nandua was able to grind out a solid victory over Chincoteague when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ponies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
