Mainland has been on a difficult stretch since their win on November 18. They lost 5-1 to the DeLand Bulldogs on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 518th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 249th).

Mainland's goal came courtesy of Dayron Boada, who's now up to 20 this season.

Mainland's loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for DeLand, their record now sits at 6-9-3.

Mainland wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Deltona on the 22nd. As for DeLand, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Crescent City on the 17th.
