Volleyball Recap: Kennedy Davis Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Doniphan-Trumbull

Centura won the last time they faced Doniphan-Trumbull and things went their way on Thursday too. The Centurions came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 2-0.

Centura easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14.

Centura's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kennedy Davis led the charge by getting ten kills and three blocks. Davis has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last nine times she's played. Belle Taukiuvea was another key player, getting 22 assists and one block.

Centura has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centura will head out to challenge Gibbon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they will venture away from home to square off against Sandy Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
