Softball Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Bellevue Wolverines

The Roosevelt Roughriders will be playing at home against the Bellevue Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Roosevelt's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Bellevue has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Roosevelt is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Thursday, just like they did against Lincoln (and have done all season long). Roosevelt was the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Lincoln on Tuesday.

Claire Schmitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.

Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. As for Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
