Football Recap: Canyon del Oro Dorados vs. Snowflake Lobos

Canyon del Oro and Snowflake squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Canyon del Oro had to settle for second. They were dealt a 59-6 defeat at the hands of the Snowflake Lobos. The Dorados lost against the Lobos in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 16-13 score last time.

Snowflake found their leader in sophomore Jacob LaDuke, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 109 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. Kanton Turley was another key player, rushing for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Canyon del Oro and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Snowflake, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Canyon del Oro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Snowflake, they will square off against Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Snowflake is on a 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Prescott a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
