Softball Recap: Rowe Warriors vs. Vela Sabercats
Rowe was the 13-12 winner over Vela when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell just short of the Sabercats by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mackenzie Garza and Addison Espinosa did some serious damage despite the final result: Garza scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Espinosa scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lilianna Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Rowe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Vela, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Rowe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vela, they will square off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
