Basketball Recap: Elkton Takes a Loss

Elkton lost against North Douglas back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Elkton Elks were beaten by North Douglas 53-13. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while North Douglas are ranked 71st).

Elkton's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for North Douglas, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkton will challenge McKenzie at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Elkton is facing McKenzie at the right time seeing as McKenzie is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for North Douglas, they will square off against Mapleton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mapleton is on a three-game streak of home wins, North Douglas a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
