Basketball Recap: North Beach Comes Up Short

North Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Willapa Valley Vikings and fell 74-39. The Hyaks were probably out for revenge after losing 64-40 to them when the teams met back in January of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

North Beach's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Johnson, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Eastman, who had nine points in addition to five boards and five blocks.

Blane King went supernova for Willapa Valley, going 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Sliva, who put up 11 points.

North Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Willapa Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

North Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-39 win against Northwest Christian on the 13th. As for Willapa Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-30 victory against Pe Ell on the 14th.
