Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Hillgrove couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Cherokee Warriors by a score of 57-54 on Tuesday. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Hillgrove still got an impressive performance from Yolanda Floyd, who went 6-for-15 en route to 13 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aeris Macon, who posted five points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Hillgrove's defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Cherokee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Hillgrove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherokee, they will square off against Grayson on Saturday. Grayson will roll in looking for their 30th straight victory, something Cherokee surely won't give up without a fight.
