Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Country Day School vs. Charlotte Latin

Charlotte Country Day School is 0-10 against Charlotte Latin since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Charlotte Country Day School took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Charlotte Christian. Charlotte Country Day School haven't had any issues with Charlotte Christian recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Latin entered their tilt with Cape Fear Academy on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hurricanes a 5-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Charlotte Latin's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Cape Fear Academy are ranked 32nd).

Charlotte Latin hit Cape Fear Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Graceyn Levesque (2), Whitney Baker, Brooke Proffitt, and Lillian Jarmosevich.

Charlotte Latin's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those nine contests. As for Charlotte Country Day School, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Charlotte Country Day School might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Charlotte Latin when the teams last played on April 10th. Can the Buccaneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
