Everett High School Joins Boston's Dominant Sport Scene

Well, the 3rd Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard visited the Bay State to honor the Crimson Tide Football Team at Everett High School at half-time of a boys varsity basketball game.

The Everett High School football team finished 25th nationally for the 2007 season according to MaxPreps, a California-based ranking system.

The 2007 season was a record-setting one for the north shore school.  Everett became only the second school in Massachusetts' history to win 700 football games.  The Crimson Tide were 13-0 for the season, equaling the most wins in a single season.  The offense tallied 471 points - the most scored in a single season since 1914 when they scored 600.

Josh, the Crimson Tide's heady sports announcer, introduced MaxPreps representative Steve Spiewak.  Steve raved about Everett's remarkable run to their State Championship and their premier 25th national ranking.  Steve really pumped up the large crowd when he spoke about how the Crimes Tide is in the same company as the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics as Boston-based champions!!

Steve then introduced the SFC John Matthews of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, who not only is a proud graduate of Everett High yet also played on the Everett High School football team back in the day.  SFC Matthews riled up the students all the while Army National Guardsmen tossed t-shirts to the students and fans.  SFC Matthews then presented the coveted Tour of Champions National Ranking trophy to Head Coach Scott Dibiaso.  Coach Dibiaso told the crowd how it was a real honor to accept this national ranking trophy and even more so from a former player.  He then thanked the fans, coaches, faculty and players for an awesome season.

Afterwards, photo moments were had all around and the commemorative Army National Guard/Tour of Champions t-shirts and iPod speakers were distributed to all the players.
