League recap: Dibenedetto dominating on the mound for Blake

5A District 11 league recap: 3/27/13

5A District 11's top pitcher this week was Blake's Dean Dibenedetto. He retired nine batters this week.

Corey Thompson was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .389 average with six RBIs. Meanwhile, the Yellowjackets put together a 2-0 week.

Jesuit's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only nine hits and nine walks, both of which led the league.

There were 13 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Ricky Caldevilla, who hit .667 by going 6-for-9.

Robert Berning led the league with nine hits this week for Spoto. He is tenth in the league with 14 hits this year, and has a .412 batting average.



The Tigers' Jordan Parnell struck out nine Middleton hitters en route to a 24-0 victory on March 26. He gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings of work.

Vincent Miniet was an RBI machine on Saturday, as he knocked in four runs during Jesuit's 13-1 win over Tampa Catholic. He went 1-for-3 and scored one run.
