Basketball Recap: Birch Run Comes Up Short

Birch Run lost against Durand back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Birch Run Panthers and the Durand Railroaders didn't end well, with the Birch Run Panthers falling 61-46.

Samantha Leydig was nothing short of spectacular for Durand: she almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Taylor Carlson was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Birch Run now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Durand, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Birch Run will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lakeville at 6:00 p.m. As for Durand, they will head out to square off against Ovid-Elsie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ovid-Elsie's defense has only allowed 24.2 points per game this season, so Durand's offense will have their work cut out for them.
