Softball Recap: Othello Huskies vs. Ephrata Tigers

After a string of three wins, Othello's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ephrata apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on Monday.

Emi Pruneda was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run.

Even though they lost, Othello didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ephrata only tossed four.

On Ephrata's side, Mady Leseman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Trautman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Othello's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Ephrata, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Othello will take on East Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ephrata, they will play host again on Thursday to welcome Prosser, where first pitch is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Ephrata is facing Prosser at the right time seeing as Prosser is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
