Basketball Game Preview: Trinidad Miners vs. Sargent Farmers

The Trinidad Miners will take on the Sargent Farmers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sargent took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Trinidad, who comes in off a win.

Trinidad took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 73-39 victory over Dolores Huerta Prep.

Trinidad can attribute much of their success to Nathan Sandoval, who posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Sandoval a new career-high in points. Jesse Apodaca was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Sargent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Custer County.

Trinidad's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Sargent, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
