Football Recap: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Schuylerville Horses
After flying high against Watervliet/Heatly last Friday, Lansingburgh came back down to earth. The Lansingburgh Knights were dealt a 41-3 loss at the hands of the Schuylerville Horses on Friday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Horses recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Schuylerville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landen Cumm out in front who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Cumm is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben VanVeghten, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Lansingburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Schuylerville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Lansingburgh will take on Green Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Schuylerville, they will square off against Warrensburg/Lake George/Bolton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
