Volleyball Recap: Fort Zumwalt West Comes Up Short

If Fort Zumwalt West was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Timberland on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars lost 3-0 to the St. Dominic Crusaders on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Lyla Steber paced Fort Zumwalt West's offense, picking up 15 kills. Steber got some help from Carly Wolff and her 18 assists.

Emily Frazier was a one-woman wrecking crew For St. Dominic. as she had 25 digs and seven assists. Those 25 digs gave Frazier a new career-high.

With the loss, Fort Zumwalt West broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 25-5. As for St. Dominic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9-2 record this season.

Fort Zumwalt West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Dominic, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against North Point on the 28th.
