Baseball Game Preview: Malden Catholic Lancers vs. St. John's Prep Eagles

Malden Catholic hasn't had much luck against St. John's Prep recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lancers will challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monday just wasn't the day for Malden Catholic's offense. They came up short against Xaverian Brothers on Monday, falling 9-0.

Catholic Memorial hit St. John's Prep with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 8-2 to the Knights. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Knights since Monday.

St. John's Prep now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Malden Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Malden Catholic couldn't quite finish off St. John's Prep in their previous matchup on April 6th and fell 9-7. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
