Softball Recap: Briarwood Christian Takes a Loss

Briarwood Christian came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-7 to the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers. The Lions have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Ashley Heinemann made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Briarwood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-14-1. As for John Carroll Catholic, they moved to 10-18 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coming up, Briarwood Christian will challenge Central of Clay County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Volunteers at the right time seeing as the Volunteers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sipsey Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
