St. Petersburg put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand the Countryside Cougars a 5-0 shutout. The Green Devils' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

They hit Countryside with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hudson Brown (3), Johnny Pericles, and Brady Weimerskirk.

St. Petersburg's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Countryside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-2.

St. Petersburg will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Northeast at 8:00 p.m. As for Countryside, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shorecrest Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
