Football Recap: Ponderosa Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Ponderosa had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Ridge Trojans on Thursday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Ponderosa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Stephanie Freas and Isabella Humphrey. Freas has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times she's played.

Ponderosa has already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against McClatchy on the 25th. As for Oak Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-13 victory against Colfax on the 26th.
