Baseball Recap: El Dorado Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last six times El Dorado and Foothill had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Golden Hawks fell 5-2 to the Knights on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Golden Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Logan Steenburgen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, El Dorado saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden McNaughton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Foothill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

While El Dorado had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
