Softball Recap: Chino Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

If Chino Valley was feeling good fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Parker last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell just short of the Winslow Bulldogs by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since March 4th.

Aden Hubble was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

With the loss, Chino Valley broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-8. As for Winslow, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Chino Valley will challenge Kingman at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Winslow, they will square off against Bourgade Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
