Baseball Recap: Hope's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hope took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mt. Pleasant, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Wave sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Kilties on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Wave have posted since April 5th.

The win (which was Hope's third in a row) raised their record to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hope will welcome North Smithfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Davies Career & Tech at 4:30 p.m. The Kilties are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
