St. Vincent de Paul is 8-2 against Piner since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. St. Vincent de Paul will be playing in front of their home fans against Piner at 4:00 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

St. Vincent de Paul managed to slip by Healdsburg the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. St. Vincent de Paul lost 9-3 to Healdsburg on Friday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piner). They blew past Middletown 12-1 on Saturday. With that win, the Prospectors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Sokhayne Prak made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kellan Stiles, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Piner is 3-1 when Stiles posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Anthony Cordoza, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Piner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Middletown only posted an OBP of .222.

Piner's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

St. Vincent de Paul beat Piner 8-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does St. Vincent de Paul have another victory up their sleeve, or will Piner turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
