Baseball Recap: Medford Takes a Loss

Woburn Memorial hit Medford with a nine-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs lost 16-5 to the Tanners. The Mustangs have struggled against the Tanners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Medford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Wright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. The Mustangs are 2-1 when Wright posts two or more runs, but 1-3-1 otherwise. David Crohan was another, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Medford now has a losing record of 3-4-1.

Coming up, Medford will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Everett at 12:00 p.m. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crimson Tide have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Woburn Memorial, they will face off against Reading Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
