Football Recap: Greenville Takes Down Olympia in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Greenville rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Olympia Spartans 35-32. Winning may never get old, but the Comets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brendon Hardimon, who rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Hardimon is becoming a predictor of Olympia's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 5-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kolin Simpson, who rushed for 108 yards and one TD on only 13 carries.

Greenville's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Olympia, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Greenville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Vandalia on the 8th. Olympia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
