Recap: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Ben Davis Giants
The Pinson Valley Indians have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 67-48 to Ben Davis.
Despite the loss, Pinson Valley saw an underclassman step up: Clyde Walters dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Walters scored a full 33.3% of Pinson Valley's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Coner, who scored 13 points.
Pinson Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Ben Davis, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Pinson Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Silsbee at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Silsbee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,173 points over their last 16 matchups. Ben Davis will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Indianapolis Washington at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
