Basketball Recap: Hazen Highlanders vs. Redmond Mustangs

Hazen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 65-40 to the Redmond Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-27 back in November of 2024.

Redmond was led to victory by Iha Kasam and Sofia Locati. Kasam dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 boards, while Locati dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Kasam's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Natalie West was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Hazen's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Redmond, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Hazen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Redmond, they will head out to take on Skyline at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Redmond's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
