Baseball Game Preview: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Ralston Rams

The Plattsmouth Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Ralston Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ralston took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Plattsmouth, who comes in off a win.

Plattsmouth not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 11-0). They blew past Louisville 12-4. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Plattsmouth got a great performance from Derek Nanke as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Nanke has posted since April 2nd.

At the plate, Brady Thomas was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Levi Walker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Ralston fell victim to Seward and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Bluejays. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Ralston's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Plattsmouth, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Plattsmouth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ralston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Plattsmouth suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Ralston in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
