After a string of five wins, Windthorst's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Petrolia Pirates by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 back in March.

Karissa Fillingim was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. She has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last five times she's played. Kamdyn Neal was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Windthorst's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Petrolia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
