Baseball Game Preview: Dimond Lynx vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears

The Dimond Lynx will face off against the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dimond is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against South Anchorage by a score of 9-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lynx as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dax O'Brien looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dimond got a massive performance out of Josiah James, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those runs were James' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Dittman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Juneau-Douglas faced Wasilla in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crimson Bears had just enough and edged out the Warriors 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crimson Bears have posted since May 10, 2024.

Dimond's win bumped their record up to 14-10-2. As for Juneau-Douglas, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Dimond might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Juneau-Douglas in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Lynx avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
