Mingo Central is 8-2 against Tolsia since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mingo Central Miners will head out on the road to take on the Tolsia Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Mingo Central and three for Tolsia.

Last Tuesday, Mingo Central ended up a good deal behind WestSide and lost 67-53.

Meanwhile, Tolsia took a blow against Wahama on Tuesday, falling 82-39. The matchup marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mingo Central will need focus on slowing down Robert Evans, one of several Tolsia players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points. Evan Ball was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tolsia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Tolsia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mingo Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Mingo Central skirted past Tolsia 62-60 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mingo Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
