Football Game Preview: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens vs. Ichabod Crane Riders

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk has gone a perfect 6-0 against Ichabod Crane recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Ravens will head out to take on the Riders at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 50-point drubbing they dealt Cohoes on Friday. The Ravens took their game with ease, bagging a 56-6 win over the Tigers. The Ravens have beaten the Tigers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Lee Kittle and Joseph Touzin. Kittle rushed for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Touzin rushed for 143 yards and one score on only eight carries. Those 143 rushing yards gave Touzin a new career-high. Joseph Foy also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Foy, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Ichabod Crane made easy work of Scotia-Glenville on Friday and carried off a 31-6 victory. Considering the Riders have won three matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win got Ichabod Crane back to even at 4-4. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk against Ichabod Crane in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
