Volleyball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Comes Up Short

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Vinton-Shellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Maquoketa Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Vinton-Shellsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maquoketa Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Western Dubuque on the 20th.
