Baseball Game Preview: Gray Stone Day Knights vs. Mount Pleasant Tigers

Gray Stone Day is 0-7 against Mount Pleasant since March of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Gray Stone Day Knights will head out to face off against the Mount Pleasant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Gray Stone Day managed to slip by Forest Hills the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Gray Stone Day lost 14-2 to Forest Hills on Thursday.

Zach Misenheimer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Misenheimer wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cliffton Hatley, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant suffered their closest defeat since April 2, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Hickory Ridge by a score of 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Ragin' Bulls: they've now lost seven in a row.

Gray Stone Day's record now sits at 1-1. As for Mount Pleasant, their record is now an identical 1-1.

Gray Stone Day might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Mount Pleasant when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Gray Stone Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
