Basketball Recap: Gretchen Seagren Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Wahoo won the last time they faced Malcolm and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wahoo Warriors walked away with a 39-31 victory over the Malcolm Clippers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Wahoo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gretchen Seagren out in front who posted nine points and three blocks. Seagren is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Erin Golladay was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Malcolm lost, don't look at Payton Dolliver. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Wahoo pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.8 points per game. As for Malcolm, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Wahoo has already played their next contest, a 39-17 win against Nebraska City on the 1st. As for Malcolm, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-53 loss against Plattsmouth on the 1st.
