Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Kirtland Central Broncos
The Dixie Flyers lost against the Kirtland Central Broncos back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dixie fell 60-51 to Kirtland Central.
Dixie's loss came despite strong showings from Kealah Faumuina and Hali Smith. Faumuina dropped a double-double on 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Smith scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Faumuina scored a full 52.9% of Dixie's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was jaycee bundy, who scored 6 points.
Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Kirtland Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie will square off against Moapa Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kirtland Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Page at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Page is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
