Recap: Manti Templars vs. Grand County Red Devils
The Manti Templars's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Grand County with points to spare, taking the game 48-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Manti also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Manti was led to victory by Brooklyn Olson and Cadee Alder. Olson almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 steals, while Alder scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Alder has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmie Bollar, who scored 4 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds.
Grand County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rhiannon Hren, who scored 6 points along with 15 rebounds, and Cadence Kasprick who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Kasprick scored a full 44.1% of Grand County's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Grand County struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Manti racked up 11.
Manti now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Grand County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Manti will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Delta is ranked 71st, while Manti is ranked 69th). As for Grand County, they will take on Merit Preparatory Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
