Baseball Recap: Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Shore

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK). They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the North Shore Vikings on Wednesday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Josh Kim looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ryan Kurre was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Mijuca, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, North Shore fell to 3-1.
