Volleyball Recap: Fairhope Takes a Loss

Fairhope was the 2-1 winner over Hoover when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Buccaneers on Friday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Kenly Nelson paced Fairhope's offense, picking up eight kills. Nelson got some help from Libby Rogers and her 11 assists.

Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cheyenne Conner, who had 16 digs and two assists. Conner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Fairhope's defeat dropped their record down to 19-18. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 16-21.

Fairhope didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Faith Academy on the 11th. As for Hoover, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hatton on the 11th.
