Baseball Game Preview: Oakville Tigers vs. Hazelwood West Wildcats

The Oakville Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Hazelwood West Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Oakville is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Lindbergh by a score of 6-5 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Hazelwood West put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Lutheran as Hazelwood West made off with a 10-3 victory. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Billy Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Jackson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Douglas, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Hazelwood West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .513 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
