Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral lost against Silver back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lobos came up short against the Fighting Colts, falling 3-0. The Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Chaparral took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Chaparral saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Diana Valenzuela had 13 digs and one assist. Valenzuela has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 14 times she's played.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Silver, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Deming on the 1st. As for Silver, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Santa Teresa on the 1st.
