Recap: Latta Vikings vs. East Clarendon Wolverines
The Latta Vikings suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 55-29 loss to East Clarendon might stick with them for a while. Latta was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Clarendon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Latta lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shawniza Bethea. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with two steals. Bethea is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Latta's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for East Clarendon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Latta will face off against Lake View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake View will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for East Clarendon, they will head out on the road to challenge Scott's Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
