It was a good run, but Riverdale unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Riverdale's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-11. As for L.W. Higgins, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale will welcome Benjamin Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for L.W. Higgins, they will be playing at home against St. James at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
