Soccer Recap: Asheboro Victorious

Asheboro kept a clean sheet against Richmond on Wednesday. They skirted past the Richmond Raiders 1-0. That's two games straight that the Blue Comets have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Jaira Arellano, who's now up to nine this season.

Asheboro's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Richmond, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Asheboro wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against East Davidson on the 17th. As for Richmond, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Union Pines on the 14th.
