It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Brooks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Kennedy Crusaders 5-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

PJ Hester made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hester was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, David Richardson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Brooks now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Kennedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Brooks will square off against Kenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.25 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kennedy, they will challenge Simeon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
