Juab and Emery are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Wasps will face off against the Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Juab made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Delta, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wasps were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Rabbits on Wednesday. With that victory, the Wasps brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Bailee Benson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other pitching news, Sienna Soper looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Juab got a big performance out of Livia Topham, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Topham has posted since back in March. Jaleigh Burton also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Juab was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delta only posted a batting average of .161.
Meanwhile, Emery made easy work of Richfield on Tuesday and carried off a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Kallee Lake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Nielson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Elly Stilson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
Emery has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Juab, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.
Emery's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Juab has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for Emery, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Juab's hitters?
Juab might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Emery when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wasps avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
