Basketball Recap: Pe Ell Skates Past Washington School for the Deaf with Ease

Pe Ell won the last time they faced Washington School for the Deaf and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pe Ell Trojans really took it to the Washington School for the Deaf Terriers for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-21 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Trojans had established a 31 point advantage.

Pe Ell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Harris out in front who went 7 for 12 en route to 14 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in points. Blake Nelson was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Pe Ell was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington School for the Deaf only posted five assists.

Washington School for the Deaf lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kadyn Carver, who posted eight points. Carver is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was La'Juan Malone, who had ten points and four steals.

The win got Pe Ell back to even at 8-8. As for Washington School for the Deaf, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Pe Ell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-40 defeat against Willapa Valley on the 25th. As for Washington School for the Deaf, they will face off against Wahkiakum at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
